The Medallion was found!
The 2009 Fire Muster Medallion Hunt paid tribute – in a roundabout way - to long-time Burnsville Athletic Club Football Commissioner Mel Larson. The city renamed the football field at Black Dog Park "Mel Larson Field" in his honor for being the type of volunteer who has a heart and gives for years. Because the field is fenced and locked during non-game times, the medallion was hidden in the plantings under the sign - easterly side - at the entrance to the park.
